OUTSIDE THE BOX

Performance doesn't just happen on a stage. We aim to bring the performance to any space and foster a fully immersive creative experience for the audience.

A VARIETY OF AUDIENCES

We create programs that engage audiences of all ages and all musical backgrounds. No time for a 3 hours opera? We can show you the highlights! Like your entertainment with food? We'll bring the snacks!

A VARIETY OF VENUES

We can come to your space or book one for you. Whatever creative experience you're looking for, we can make it work - whether it's a library, a flower garden, a traditional theatre, and more!

WHO ARE WE?

Magic Mirrors Creative is a collaboration between Sarah Kropski and Gretel Mink Hansen. We met playing angels in Chamber Opera Chicago's production of "Hansel and Gretel" in 2009 and have been the best of friends ever since. One thing that keeps our friendship strong is a shared vision of how music connects with community. We're ready to share that vision with you!

Gretel Mink Hansen

Gretel Mink Hansen, a Miami native, holds both her Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal performance from The University of Miami’s Frost School of Music and her Master’s in Vocal Pedagogy from Northeastern Illinois University. Since graduating, Mrs. Hansen has led a fulfilling performance career in both opera and musical theater. She has worked for Walt Disney World, The Orlando Opera, and Chamber Opera Chicago. She has also toured Europe every year since 2013 with Chamber Opera Chicago Tours as a performing artist. Though, Mrs. Hansen loves performing, she also loves teaching and has had a full studio of budding singers. Her specialty is students ages 7-13 with changing voices, which is what her graduate studies centered around, but she also loves teaching high school and adult students as well. Mrs. Hansen’s philosophy in vocal studies is “Every style can be sung with the right technique and the right attitude.”

Sarah Kropski

Sarah Kropski is a soprano soloist and main stage performer in the Chicagoland area. As a collaborator and performer of children’s sing-a-long programs at libraries and a recital series educating audiences on a variety of classical soprano traditions and styles, Sarah is always seeking opportunities to bring a classical vocal style to all music genres and venues.
